One of the most excellent examples of Andalusian Gothic architecture, and possibly the most orthodox in its style throughout the province. Its main facade, with a Gothic-Flamboyant appearance, was commissioned by the Bishop of Ja\u00e9n, Alonso Su\u00e1rez de la Fuente del Sauce. The west facade, on the other hand, is one of the most interesting examples of Mannerism in Andalusian architecture due to its level of experimentation and vigor. Following the project of Andr\u00e9s de Vandelvira and with the sculpture of Lorenzo Borgio. The bell tower was the tallest in the city until the 19th century, when it was lowered due to its ruinous state. Inside, the Dean Ortega&#8221;s chapel and the sacristy (opposite), both built under a program of interventions in the mid-14th century, are outstanding. Its Renaissance design is attributed to Vandelvira.
