Resumen: De acuerdo a la normativa de protección y gestión del patrimonio arqueológico de Úbeda, la intervención arqueológica ha supuesto un excepcional marco para comenzar a evaluar de manera empírica parte del proceso social que compete a la evolución del trazado y contenido urbano de Úbeda. También ha supuesto un banco de pruebas para contrastar la validez de los modelos explicativos y los procedimientos metodológicos que se emplean para caracterizar el Patrimonio Arquitectónico Urbano. En este último aspecto, ha quedado de manifiesto la vaguedad de los parámetros empleados para su definición al basarse, casi de manera exclusiva, en criterios básicamente estilísticos de los edificios que normalmente se infieren de sus fachadas. De esta forma se ha ido elaborando un catalogo de edificios considerados singulares que en muchos casos es erróneo y, por tanto, alejado del proceso histórico (social) que los genero.

Abstract: According to the normative of protection and administration of the archaeological patrimony of Úbeda, the archaeological intervention has supposed an exceptional mark to begin to evaluate in way empiric part of the social process that concerns to the evolution of the layout and urban content of the city. It has also supposed a bank of tests to contrast the validity of the explanatory models and the methodological procedures that are used to characterize the Urban Architectural Patrimony. In this last aspect, it has been of manifesto the uncertainty of the parameters used for their definition when being based, almost in an exclusive way, in basically stylistic approaches of the buildings that are usually inferred of their facades. This way he/she has left elaborating an I classify of singular considered buildings that it is erroneous in many cases and, therefore, far from the historical process (social) that generate them.
