Palace of Don Luis de la Cueva
Description
15th-17th centuries. This is a manor house that served as the residence of the Cueva family. It consists of two floors surrounding a central courtyard, with some Mudejar elements. On the exterior, the continuous balcony and the entrance arch were remodeled in the 18th century. It is said that King Henry IV stayed there, who favored the nobleman from Ubeda, Beltrán de la Cueva, who was later alleged to be the father of Princess Juana "la Beltraneja". During the Civil War, it was used as a relief house and prison, and later as a carpentry workshop. After its restoration, it currently serves as municipal offices.
