Cárcel Del Obispo
Description
BIC (Cultural Heritage Site). It was built in the 16th century for a community of "recluded" women. From the 18th century, it was used as a prison for clergy, which is why it is known as the "Bishop''s Prison". Only the facade of the original building remains. Currently housing courts, a Bronze Age necropolis (1400-1300 BC) was discovered under its foundations. The artifacts found are displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Úbeda, in Jaén.
