Olive Oil and Olive Grove Interpretation Center

Úbeda , Jaén Tourist information center

Description

"TERCIA HOUSE"
Listed in grade 3 by the PEPCH. S. XVI. Current Olive Oil and Olive Grove Interpretation Center. Right next to the octagonal tower. It is a very simple two-story building, which only has coffered decoration on the front. Its name comes from the use for which it was built, since a third of the ecclesiastical tax was collected there. Currently its main motive is the precious olive oil. Inherited from the most remote antiquity, it is a huge part of our gastronomy and the basis for any traditional cuisine. Virgin olive oil is the only one that can be classified as a natural product, since (unlike others) it lacks chemical processes. It is a natural fruit juice that preserves its smell, flavor, aroma and vitamin content. In the surroundings of La Loma the variety of Picual olives is offered, with a stronger and fruity flavor, which does not leave its taster indifferent.
