Plateresque Facade on Gradas Street

Listed as a 4th degree monument in the PEPCH. From the early 16th century. Plateresque style. Current building of the UNED headquarters. In the same line as the first Renaissance, where we also find the palace of the Casa de las Torres. Through a great ornamentation concentrated on the facade, the viewer is indicated the importance and power of the resident family at that time. Above the semi-circular arch door, remnants of the Gothic style can be found, such as the conopial-shaped molding. Further up, flanked by two columns and a balustrade, a double-arched window crowned by scallop shells and a frieze with mascarons and rosettes.
