Vela de los Cobos Palace

BIC (Cultural Heritage Site) Second half of the 16th century. It is a manor house in which its architect, Andrés de Vandelvira, introduced elements that would later spread to all civil architecture in the following century. This includes the corner balcony, with a central marble column, which is a local variant. The distribution of decorative elements, merely clustered around the main entrance and balconies (leaving the walls bare), and the arcade of the main floor are also characteristics of Vandelvirian architecture and of the Spanish Renaissance that would predominate in the 17th century. It houses one of the most important private collections, as well as the library and the archive.
