Palacio de los Bussianos
Description
Palace of the Marquises of Bussianos. Classified as a 2nd degree building in the PEPCH. From the 16th century. Typology of palace in urban fortress style, with a project of a lateral tower (unfinished) as an allusion to the warrior past and the thriving nobility that inhabits it. Something typical of this century and an example that we also find in the Palace of the Marquis of Mancera. Belonging to the lineage of the Messía, this family developed a taste for the exotic as reflected in the interior decoration and in their prominent mascarons (Indian type, reminiscent of Olmec heads) on the central balcony of the facade, one of the most interesting points. It is also worth mentioning the interior staircase with its large dome covering it, which is the widest in all the civil architecture of the city.
